Training camp starts next week! What? Where in the world have the last months gone? My squad (S squad, represent!) and I have been getting to know bits and pieces of each other through long distance communication like text and GroupMe. Tomorrow, I actually get to meet some of them face to face before we carpool down to Georgia next week to meet everyone else. It is seriously so much for me to really take in. It almost seems too good to be true!
There is one thing about my squad that I feel in my bones to be true! I believe that no matter where we are starting from and how different some of us may be from one another in the beginning, the Lord has specially chosen every single Racer on my squad for the specific purpose of building up the rest of the squad. So I guess if any of my fellow squad mates was not sure what the Lord had planned for us on the Race, this is part of it! And not just to build others up, but to be built up ourselves as well (whether we like it or not)!
Every single person I have met so far on my squad has been RIDICULOUSLY encouraging (like you wouldn’t even believe)! When one of us is struggling, literally dozens of others on the squad will come to their aid, whether that means speaking encouraging words, highlighting Bible verses, lifting up prayers, or even just acknowledging our pain and validating it. We are very different (I can already feel it), but we balance each other out really well. I believe the reason why is because we all have had a personal encounter with Jesus. He has taken us and molded us to be the people that the rest of the squad needs in their lives!
I am honestly way too excited for the next 2 weeks. I really barely have words for it, but I can tell that they will be life changing! The Lord has brought me here this far, and I know that He has something special in store for us all. We are all going to learn something about one another, about ourselves, and about the Lord during this time. I think it is going to wreck us for the ordinary! Holy Spirit, come down!
Please keep my squad in your prayers as we travel to Georgia. Pray specifically for healing and for chains to be broken in many people’s lives (because yes, even missionaries need to carry their crosses daily). We all need Jesus just as much as we did before we even knew Him, and He is not done sanctifying us. I really feel the Lord stirring something, and He will definitely bring it to pass! Lord, give us hearts to receive your blessings during training camp and every day before and after!
In all things, be blessed!
