- The language barrier is real. Even though I know some Spanish, it is still hard to communicate. I understand way more than I can speak. For me personally, I want to know the hearts of the people that I encounter, and I want to know more about the culture here in Colombia. But the language barrier can make learning difficult.
- God is an artist. This is my third continent to be on, and I am blown away. The beauty and character of Medellin is astounding. Medellin is the close to one of the biggest city I have ever been in by far. This city is in a deep valley surrounded by green mountains. The temperature is mostly the same all year round.
- God wants my weaknesses. He will use me if I open up and embrace my weaknesses for Him to use. This month I have spent time getting to know those more so I can better rely on him.
- Communities are hard but can bring the greatest joy. It is okay to just BE YOU and to open up your heart for others.
- The Spirit moves in so many ways that sometimes you just have to smile and throw in a little “HA” at the Lord.
- Everyday there is one person or thing that will impact your day. Find it or them so that you can make an impact and be blessed. 1>99: there is JOY in the ONE.
- Sometimes things just work out. For example, when you find a peso at the bottom of your bag that may or may not help you pay for food. Or when you magically sit next to someone you really need to talk with so you can bond. Or when you are really craving a cinnamon roll and coffee and they are too. Things just have a funny way of working out when you are with the right person.
- It really is possible for 26 girls to share one bathroom. It is even more possible when you have 2-3 girls coming in together to make things go faster.
- People really are open to the freedom that God can give them. You just have to be bold enough to share the truth.
- When “Let’s get this bread” becomes reality. Eating bread daily is a thing here.
- Abiding in God is what I need daily. Sitting in His presence is calming. Worship is through all things that give God praise. And just seeking him in everything. He will move.
