Omg. It all starts.

With. this. one.

To begin, it seems fitting to share the words I have already sent out.

So, here is my support letter:

Dear readers,

I hope this letter finds you well! I’m writing to share with you an exciting opportunity that I will be participating in this coming September and ask you to consider being part of it through prayer and financial support.

For the summers of 2016 and 2017, I served at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters (SWO) in Andrews, North Carolina. SWO is a high-adventure, gospel-proclaiming ministry that instilled within me a purpose and passion for the gospel. Through those two summers, God allowed me to see His convicting and empowering love. Whether it was through studying a chapter in the bible, wrestling the internal conflicts of my immaturity, or experiencing the restoration of relationships through Jesus Christ; I was changed. God was changing people around me, and I had a front row seat. Nevertheless, leaving SWO and returning to Roxboro, NC for my final year of high school has been difficult but eye-opening. God has been faithful to me in my failure and disobedience, and now, I want to be obedient to Him and His will for my life. So as my senior year comes to a close, I have dedicated the next year of my life to the World Race: Gap Year. What is the World Race: Gap Year?

The World Race: Gap Year is a 9-month gospel-centered mission trip to 3 different continents. One of the unique things about the World Race: Gap Year is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. Of the six routes available, I have chosen route four which includes the countries of Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, and Swaziland.  Like most other missions’ organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded on September 8, 2018, I need to raise $15,800. This money will cover all expenses for the 9 months of my trip. I will be donating a portion of my own money for the trip, as well as, working this summer. I am grateful for your investment in my life so far and ask that you continue to support the work God is doing in me. To support me financially, there are two options. To donate online: Visit my blog at www.williamjacobs.theworldrace.org and click on the orange “Donate!” button.
