In only three days I will be boarding a bus with my pack on my back. This bus will bring me to a plane, which will take me to Colombia, London, and finally India.
After three months of being immersed in South America, I’m having to say “ciao” and waving goodbye to a lot of people I will hold dear to my heart. Heres a few of my favorite God moments during my time in South America:
Colombia:
The day we got to go into a PUBLIC high school. We preached the gospel, we taught them about fighting addiction, about finding their identity, and how Christ sees them.
Manantiales: a feeding program where we played with children and passed out food. We carried 80 Lbs of food across the city that day, it was amazing.
Ecuador:
We got to serve in college ministry this month, we helped with a gale-entines day party to celebrate the women on campuses across Quito.

We got to sing love songs to students on campus on Valentine’s day and spread the gospel within our songs and through a love letter to the students from Jesus.
Peru:
This month we spent hours each day teaching three, four and five-year-olds. My class was 20 three-year-olds. God taught me a lot of patience this month with these kids and a language barrier, and to love and accept each child that walks in the room.
Volleyball! We played hours and hours of volleyball this month with amazing community members. We danced to some Spanish Christian music on the court, laughed when the ball flew the opposite way its suppose to go and prayed alongside these skilled volleyballers.
My time was amazing in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. I fell in love with a lot of people, a lot of animals, and with Gods voice. I’ll always treasure the memories. I’ll always laugh at my “Spanish name” (Winnie- like Winnie the Pooh) and how people don’t know Illinois but are very aware of Al Capone and Chicago.
Until next time South America, you can bet I’ll be back to visit. Thanks for all the memories, all the Spanish skills, and all the laughs.
