We are now a week into life here in Peru but I realized I never updated anyone about Ecuador.

Ecuador was amazing, we worked with a great host and ministry and got to do a lot of amazing things. Monday through Wednesday we worked at a senior home for homeless/mentally disabled guys and also at a garbage dump. Dump ministry was by far my favorite part, we got to teach kids, dance with them, color, play soccer, and also give them food. There was also a class for the moms of the children to learn how to crochet so that they could eventually sell the items they make to bring an income into their family. The biggest lesson I learned from this place was that despite your circumstances and how bad it may seem your life is, you can always choose joy. Every time we were there the kids were so happy, always laughing and having a great time, and the same goes for the moms as well. I definitely left a piece of my heart there.

On Thursdays we had the day off so we spent this time going hiking and climbing mountains, going to the beach, or to Isla de la Plata (The poor man’s Galapogos).

Fridays we did manual labor and helped the in laws of our host build the foundation of their restaurant which is going to help bring in money for the kids at the dump. Saturdays also consisted of manual labor, we would work on things at the compound we lived on and helped prepare them to get ready for the surgery center they are building for their clinic.

Month 2 of the Race was great, but also went by so fast. It’s crazy to think we’re already halfway into month 3! It is also nice to be working with Inca Link again this month since that is who we worked with in Ecuador.

Fundraising update! I need to raise $5,000 to be fully funded and I have a little over a month to do this! SO i need your help to reach this goal!!
