On one of our travel days I had the most humbling experience. I was with my team in Santiago, Chile waiting for our bus to arrive to take us to our first ministry location.
We had been waiting all day and we had about an hour left when I noticed my day pack was missing. Which I thought contained my laptop, kindle, make up and some sentimental items from home.
Thankfully out of all those things my laptop was the only thing of importance in my day pack. When I found my things I thought were in my day pack were actually in my big pack I was so grateful.
Usually if something like getting my bag stolen happened to me I’d be furious but I wasn’t. I realized that everything in there I don’t really “need”. I can live without them. It does really stink that my stuff got taken but I’m also grateful for the opportunity to rely on the Lord to provide for me in what I do need.
The neatest part of the whole story is the day before we flew out one of the other racers from my team, Morgan, had a purse that she couldn’t fit in her stuff so I offered to carry it. Since I had it that’s where I kept my passport and all of my money. If she wouldn’t have given me her purse to carry I don’t know what I would’ve done! WHAT A FREAKING BLESSING. That’s just proof that he’s watching out for me daily.
Thank you Jesus for teaching me so much already. I’m ready for this journey with you.
