The last two months flew by! Since I have gotten accepted into the race my life has kind of been crazy, but the good kind of crazy.
Ive only been on this journey for two months but I have already grown in ways I would never expected to grow. I have already grown in my faith and in trusting the Lord. I have also learned how to listen for the Lord and I am super thankful because I have so many questions to ask him.
Preparing for the race I have learned to really rely on the Lord because for one, $18,600 is a LOT of money to raise in just a few short months, but like Matthew 7:7 say “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Man oh man is that the truth. But the Story of asking for more goes back a little farther than asking the Lord to provide the money I need for my mission trip.
This last summer I went to Church camp with our youth and I would’ve never dreamed that I would experience the Lord like I did taking my 7th grade girls small group to camp. I encountered the Holy Spirit in a way I didn’t know was possible. After that week I have continued to ask the Lord to experience him in new ways. This is the perfect opportunity. Traveling the world and sharing his name.
Through the last two months I have learned to put all of my faith in the Lord and not in people or in tangible things because in the end I will just be disappointed. I have learned to trust him in all things. For instance this last week I had horrible anxiety because of the garage sale. I had thoughts like “what if no one comes” or “I am not prepared enough to make it happen smoothly”. But the moment I gave God all my anxiety I felt his freedom and his joy.(1 Peter 5:7)
One last thing before I end, I am so so thankful for all of the prayers and donations. I truly couldn’t do this without you guys.
