Part of our ministry during the first half of our time in Cambodia is visiting to different houses in a village about an hour outside of Siem Reap, called Tapouk. We also do english classes here, but this blog will be about the house visits. (This is SJ from after writing the blog — it kind of turns into something different)
Every day of the week we have certain houses to go to either for bible studies or just to visit, share the gospel, and pray for the people. Already since we’ve been here, we’ve seen God heal people and I’ve felt His presence in each of the families we see. Today we met the woman who was the first one to be a believer in this village. Our ministry host Ronald came to her house a while ago, and he prayed healing over her. After the Lord healed her, she’s been going to the small church in the village and telling her friends about her experience. The number of people in this village isn’t huge, but just seeing how God has already been moving here for some time is so encouraging & amazing!
It’s common to come across people who don’t really know who Jesus. It’s still very crazy to me to be in a place where less than 1% of the population is Christian. In the states, pretty much everyone at least knows who Jesus is. Everyone’s been introduced to Him, though not necessarily in the best way sometimes.
When we meet people that haven’t even heard of Jesus, it’s a great opportunity to introduce Him as who He is — our savior, friend, and protector. The One who died for us so that we can have eternal life&eternal joy in Him. His Father gave Him up in order that we could be saved. Jesus took on & is taking on the burdens and the sins of everyone who has ever lived and will ever live. And He did it because He loves us. As simple as that. He created us to be loved by Him. We are all God’s children. Children of the King.
To be able be live like Jesus and share the gospel not only through our words but through our actions is an everyday thing. And that translates incredibly well to how I get to live life here in the ‘Bodes.
BONUS PICS can’t happen because of technical difficulties this week 🙁
