There is no easy way to walk through this. It is not always so simple to truly forgive others, or even yourself. Especially after such an act. What is offered though, is forgiveness through a Father who loves you unconditionally. Through Him, the hope and courage may be found to keep getting up in the morning and rejoicing in the sunrise. To look in the mirror and see a beautiful woman who is wholly known and worthy of love. You have experienced something that has the ability to ruin years of life, but God is calling you out of that pain. He has seen your tears, heard your cries, and felt your defeat. He was there when it happened, and He was there when it was over, waiting with open arms. You are not defined by what happened. You are not defined by who or what your abuser saw you as. You are defined by a gracious and caring Father who has loved you since before you were born. No matter where you are on this journey, I want you to know that you can and will overcome. There is a hope and a purpose for you so much greater than this. You are loved beyond reason and have found favor in the eyes of the Almighty. No man or woman can ever change that. Turn your eyes to the heavens and let Him show you how far you’ve come. It is possible to come out of this fully forgiving and fully dependent on the Lord. He loves you. I love you. And we are both so proud of you for being here today.
To the girl who finds freedom in her Father, I’m sincerely yours,
Summer
