“Life is ministry and ministry is life.” I seem to keep relearning what that means on the Race. This week is our last week doing ministry here in Serbia, so like each month I’m taking a look back to see what’s happened. At first glance, to most people, the month could look like a total failure. Did I witness any salvations? Did I get a total stranger to come to church? Did I get to see the chains fall off of the people here? No. Well then, what was my purpose here? What did I do to make any sort of difference? Whenever I struggle with this, I ask God to show me the past month through His eyes. Did I help bring joy to kids in a gypsie village? Did I pray for and share God’s word directly with the people around me? Did I get to hear the name of Jesus come from the mouths of strangers? Did I help build connections with the church here that can be continued after I leave? Yes. All of those things happened through everyday life. I didn’t do anything special, I didn’t go out with the intention of bringing people to the faith. I went out each day with an open heart and mind to let the Spirit lead, and God did all the rest. It might not have been a month of what most would consider “typical” ministry, but it was one of the most fruitful months of ministry I’ve had so far on the Race. God truly does have big plans for Sombor and His work is not done here.
Please join me in continuing to pray for Sombor,
Sum
