Today I truly learned what it means to be a sower. What we are doing here in Sombor is sowing seeds. Whether we get to see fruit come from those or witness salvations is all up to the Lord. Our purpose here, my purpose this month, is to be a sower. And it’s honestly one of the hardest roles I’ve ever tried to fill. I met a woman today at a bakery and talked to her briefly about the church we are with and what we are doing here in Sombor. It didn’t hit me until after our conversation how little talks like that could be all God has planned for me this month. I may not see anyone come to Christ while here in Serbia, no matter how much my heart breaks for them or how badly I want them to. I may be the sower of the first seed in their life, like the woman in the bakery. And weeks or months from now she may come to Christ, or someone else may sow another seed, or water what is already there. Our Father is a gentleman, He doesn’t force us to believe in Him. He gives us a choice and patiently waits for us to seek Him, where He will reveal that He’s been right there all along. So whether I am a sower all month, a waterer, or by His grace a harvester, I know that it is all the Lord’s work. Last month I got to experience physical farm work, this month it’s all spiritual.
Learning new things every day,
Sum
