Today was a little more of an intro/logistical day. We had a debriefing meeting and got all the basics we need to know for navigating Serbian culture the ministry. Our ministry this month looks like evangelism through relationship building. We will be splitting off into different groups each afternoon to do things like play basketball, sit at coffee shops, organize events, staff the church coffee bar, soccer, and other various activities. We will continue to frequent these places each day at the same time, meet people in those areas, get to know them over the course of time, and through that share the gospel and invite them to fellowship on Sundays. It’s a slow approach of sowing seeds with a long term goal of reaping salvations. The church here has a hard time keeping members so our mission is to begin the journey with new people in the community and steer them towards its open doors.
Each morning we start with a meeting and then 1-1 1/2 hour prayer walk, followed by a few hours of practical ministry work around the church. It’s a decently packed schedule with ~8 hours of ministry a day, and I am so excited. God has big plans for the people here in Sombor and I’m ready to come alongside Him and do this WITH Him.
