I know I didn’t write a whole lot about Cambodia, but honestly it’s because the month went so well. We finished off our ATL month with two days of manual labor, helping a corner store family shovel dirt and break tile so they could lay new pavers. We spent Valentine’s Day ministering to the men on our squad, taking them out to gelato and then speed dating with our team. We ended that night dancing to 2000’s pop hits in the middle of pub street, surrounded by locals and tourists (Americans always get the party started). We ministered to each other, to our squad, and each person we came in contact with on the streets. All in all it was a really good month. I learned to take a huge step away from my pride and to lose and do so gracefully. I learned Cambodia has two seasons, wet hot and dry hot. It’s all hot. I learned what it means to be His, and gave my key (read my previous blog) away to a girl from Sweden. I learned ministry can look like just about anything. I got to love on locals, tourists from Europe, Asia, Australia, and the States. I drank enough coffee to keep all of America running and put Dunkin to shame. My new team grew closer and worked through change together. By the way, if you haven’t checked out my new team yet, they’re listed on the left side of this page! And lastly, Cambodia left an imprint on my heart. The country is so beautiful, I’m hoping one day to go back.
As you can probably guess by now, the squad has moved again, not only countries this time, but continents as well. After a short flight to Malaysia, a miscommunication realizing we were in the wrong airport after a 10 hour layover, a brisk walk with all of our packs and two short bus rides over to the other, a long flight to Turkey *too long*, a sprint across the airport to our connecting flight whiichhhhh half the squad missed…….half the squad, including me, arrived in Albania! Only the fittest will survive ladies and gents…just kidding. The rest of the squad eventually caught another flight and landed in Albania later that night. Had to get your attention with the title somehow. We’ve now all split back up into our teams and are at our ministries for the month, which I will tell you all about in my next blog!

In the meantime, I am still fundraising to reach my final amount of $18,200. The last time I checked (little wifi access here) I have $4,946 left. Would you join me in prayer as I brainstorm new fundraising ideas and press in to the Lord during this time. And if you feel called to give, there is a button that says “donate” located in the fundraising bar at the top of my blog. Thanks for tuning in and a HUGE thank you to all of my supporters so far. This Race is incredible and I wouldn’t have been able to reach the people I have or serve the people I do without your support.

Till next time, Sum
