Within the last 2 weeks we have arrived in Costa Rica, had a relaxing debrief, and had team changes. Along with team changes came role changes. I will finish out the race as the squad safety coordinator and as our team treasurer. My prayer is that I can steward both of these roles well and use them to empower other people in their strengths.

When leadership is choosing the members of the new teams they pray specifically for each individual person but also the new team as a whole. After we are given the team changes they tell us why they put us on this team and what they see for our team as a whole. During this change our team is seen to be as one that brings a new level of friendship to all the members of the team but also as a team of activation.

As we were trying to come up with a team name we discovered that our team might seem completely random to people on the outside but is so intentional for each member we have. Our goal as a team is to be bold, chill, and fun. Big things are happening and we can’t wait to share them with you all!

Meet the team:

Sydney brings creativity and energy to any situation she is in.

Ashley is fearless. She brings a lot of wisdom and silliness to the team.

Morgan prays the biggest prayers and leads by example.

Ryan’s smile lights up a room. He is the most intentional man I have ever met.

Jacob can be best friends with a stranger in less than 5 minutes. It’s pretty impressive.

Theo is passionate about the backpacking community. He loves staying at hostels solely to tell people about Jesus.

This month we will be working with one organization but moving to two different locations. The farm is where we spend our weekdays. It is located on the edge of a rainforest where we see all sorts of wildlife like tucans, monkeys, and anteaters. While there we are painting a dormitory that will soon house missionaries in training. On the weekends we come back into town where we live on the same property as the church we go to. On Saturday’s our time is filled with different clubs and youth groups that we get to lead. Then on Sunday’s we co-lead church in the mornings and art, music, and English classes in the afternoon.

Costa Rica, I can’t wait to see what else you have to offer!

Much love,
Steffy
