Hey folks! I’m still getting questions about the race all the time so I thought doing a q/a blog was a good idea to cover some basics!

What are you most exited/nervous about?

– I’m most excited about establishing relationships with our ministry hosts and the locals. I’m most nervous about encounters with squatty potties.

How are you packing enough stuff for 9 months?

– I’m not 🙂 I’m only bringing 4 shirts, 2 shorts, 2 pants, 2 skirts and 2 jackets. I am however bringing enough essential oils & feminine products.

How many people are you going with?

– My squad has 46 racers & 6 leaders! Within our squad we have teams (team N’SYNC baby.)

What are you doing after the race?

– I’ve wanted to be a nurse since I was in middle school, so maybe nursing school. However, I’m totally open to whatever opportunities the Lord sends my way. Ask me around month 8… or 9 😉

What will you miss about home the most?

– My top love language is physical touch (Lord help me) so hugs from my people for sure.

What type of ministry are you most excited about?

– This one’s quite difficult to answer but as a fly on the wall during the race you’d probably find me anywhere with kids. I’m also super passionate about women’s ministry.

How are you paying for the race?

– We are required to fundraise $15,800 for the race. So that could look like reaching out to potential sponsors, car washes, t-shirt sales, auctions or garage sales. FUNdraising is simultaneously hard and beautiful; for some, it will stretch you out of your comfort zone and you get to build some pretty awesome relationships while inviting them on the race with you stateside.

Will you get to have regular showers?

– Yes/no. Sometimes a shower might look like filling up a bucket or a regular (stall like shower with water pressure) one with cold water. And often times the reality might just be baby wipes.

How safe is the race (I get this one the most?)

– Adventures in Missions has an entire department devoted to keeping an eye on things relates to safety and risk management. So honestly? I’m not sure. Now don’t get me wrong, AIM isn’t sending us into physical war zones, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be spiritual battles which are just as dangerous. But what I do know is that either way God is good and as long as I have Him, I’m down to go anywhere at any cost.

You made it to the end!! Those sum up the majority of the questions I’ve received so I hope they help! Thank you so much for following my journey & I hope we continue to stay connected.

Feel free to message me with any prayer requests or questions you may have & don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE your email to get updates every time I post a blog. This will be the easiest way for us to stay connected while I’m on the race!

Always,
