Cambodia is the first country I’ll be living and serving in! It’s in the very beautiful, southeast Asia. Cambodia is well known for Angkor Wat, a Hindu temple that later became a Buddhist monastery. Today, Angkor Wat is the most photographed places in the world. It is also home to some of the most gorgeous jungles in the world!

While there are many beautiful things in & about Cambodia, including the people, there are also many struggles that the people face. They are currently struggling to heal from one of the worst genocides in modern history. In the 1970s, the Khmer Rouge killed over 1.5 million men, women, and children. Faced with unimaginable poverty and desperation, Cambodia became a source, transit point, and destination for human trafficking.

My team and I will be staying at the Adventures in Missions Base located in Siem Reap for the first three months of our route. AIM’s missionaries in Cambodia are passionate and diligent in serving the local community through the guesthouse, café, and restaurant while actively planting churches and partnering with many local ministries in the area.

Ethiopia is the second country I’ll be living and serving in! Located in the Horn of Africa, Middle Eastern and African tribal influences touch every corner of Ethiopia. The birthplace of coffee (praise the lamb),  literary and archeological discoveries date back to Bible times.

Just as many other developing third world countries do, Ethiopia is all too well familiar with pain. Civil wars and famine have devastated the land. Those in rural villages remain isolated, without clean water or access to markets, and the country’s ability to provide basic services is strained.

My team and I will be spending the next three months with a few of AIM’s ministry partners. We will partner with them in the care of orphans, learn how to grow Ethiopians garden and harvest their meals, and serve the homeless and forgotten all while sharing the love of Jesus.

I thank you that the people of Cambodia are encountering your love. real, tangible, unconditional, unwavering love. I declare breakthrough is happening right now in their homes that flows into the surrounding villages and cities. Father strengthen the church. Help them to abide in you. Prayer for Ethiopia:: Jesus we love you, and thank you for what you’re doing in Ethiopia. Thank you for the blessings that have been poured out over the people. Thank you for being the father of the fatherless and protector of widows; thank you for setting the solitary in a home. I pray that you are revealing yourself to them as they go through the day to day and as trials come. Jesus may your presence be tangible even when the entire world seems against them. I pray your word comes alive to them like never before. Your word says you bless those who are steadfast; so may the people of Ethiopia be steadfast to your word and may they see increase in their churches, schools, and businesses. We command all tribal and political unrest to cease in the name of Jesus; peace flood their homes and hearts. God your love for them goes beyond anything we could imagine so thank you for allowing us to partner with you in being a vessel of that love.
