I’m still in California.
There’s no way that this dream is reality. Laying in the rapids of a river, with greenery stretching across every inch of land on the banks, as if it were from the movie Jurassic world. A place where people aren’t afraid to talk to each other even if they don’t know each other. A place where kids come RUNNING UP TO YOU saying hi and yelling “KUYO SHAWN”(which means big brother shawn in Tagalog) or “JUSTIN BIEBER”. A place where I have an amazing team of six people who I hardly know at all, yet feel like family. A place where “mama jo” makes us breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, and we don’t have to worry about food. A place where I can ride laying down on top of a bus, driving through not only the city, but also the jungle, branches somethings hitting me in the face, which is by far cooler than any roller coaster I’ve ever been on. A place where people who, though they might not have much, have the biggest hearts and are full of love and laughter. A place where a smile is actually returned and WELCOMED! A place where I can have a conversation with a pastor, and hear how he was almost killed because he was a pastor, yet he STILL follows Jesus.
So ya. There’s no way I left California. There’s no way I entered into this amazing culture where love is the cornerstone.
