Hi, welcome to my blog. My name is Shawn Arruda, I am 24 years old, and i reside in the city of Eastvale, California. I have an identical twin, which has definitely been challenging over the years, but I LOVE him to death and couldn’t ask for a more supportive loving brother. My little sister turned 18 last year, and WOW, has that been a roller coaster of a journey. One thing i will always hold dear in my heart is having the pleasure of dropping her off on her first day of freshman year and her first day of senior year. I could not ask for better parents. They have always and still do push me to be the very best me I can be, and their love overwhelms me, and I cant thank them enough.
So, I currently work at Starbucks as a shift supervisor, and I absolutely love what I do. Ive heard it been told that if you don’t like your job, you’ll find all the complaints in the world and you will not want to be there. Now i know, “how can you love working at Starbucks? What about the rude customers? Memorizing all the drinks?” To be honest, I love every aspect of it. Whats funny is that even though Starbucks is a non-religious company, they have set me up a platform to share Jesus love daily! I have had so many chance encounters where I am able to connect with customers, and even baristas, about Jesus and just share the Gospel with them, and let me tell you, it is always powerful.
Something else I am currently doing is I am serving in my jr high and high school ministries at my church, Vantage Point. I know that since I was little, I have been called to serve in youth ministry, and I absolutely love it. I have met alot of my best friends through these ministries, and there are two particular God moments that stand out to me. The first one was being able to witness my sister getting baptized after over a year of prayer. You can not tell me prayer is no powerful. The second one, was watching one of my students, Andy, who is now my best friend, go from a punk high-schooler, into the ignite intern and into such an amazing man of God. I am so grateful for these ministries and how they are impacting the schools in our city for the Kingdom.
