Since the beginning of the Race, my team has given me the word ‘intentionality’.
Typical celebratory feedback : “ you are so intentional with people”.
I have made it a priority to be intentional with my team and locals the entire Race and so much fruit has come from it. Just as simple as acknowledging someone, writing a note or spending quality time. I have been able to pour out through the overflow of the Father’s love.
My team just had the opportunity to serve at a Christian camp called La Montaña in Costa Rica. We spent four days around the same staff and volunteers and it was one of my best weeks of the Race because of intentionality. Since us and the locals were investing quality time and love into each other, we felt like family after half a week. I felt so loved and cared for- intentionality is my love language!! The Lord has taught me a lot about putting others before myself and what it looks to love wholeheartedly in this season. To be generous with my time and gifts.
So what am I doing after the Race? After much prayer, I have felt the most peace about coming home and… being intentional! Super simple but for about five months I will just be spending a lot of time loving my family. Prior to the Race, I didn’t love my family well and I didn’t represent Christ well. God has given me this season to pour into my sister, my parents, my grandma and friends. Wherever I’m needed I will be available. I will be moving to Virginia with my grandma to be intentional with her two months before starting school at Liberty University in January. I will be majoring in Family and Child Development and minoring in Nutrition. I am so pumped for this season and the things the Lord is going to instill in me, as well as work through me. Ready to be available and ready to love. Prayers for preparing my heart to go home- in just 35 days I will be headed back to the states. My heart is kind of heavy juggling all the emotions and feelings of this season ending. Thank you for all the support!
