I had my first adventure day in Battambang and it was a blast! I got to experience some super cool Cambodian culture and learn about the history.
First, we went to the bamboo train. We sat on palettes made of bamboo and train tracks that went far out into the rural areas. Fields covered in bright beautiful greens, going 25 mph through the lush part of Cambodia.

Then we went to see how bamboo sticky rice was made. They mix rice, coconut milk, sugar, salt, and black beans and cook in inside of a bamboo stick. Once the rice is cooked, it becomes a sticky substance, you peel back the bamboo and eat it! Highly recommend.

Then we went to some old temples and explored around.

The suspension bridge

The killing fields. This is a monument to remember the ones killed during the Khmer Rouge. Around 2 million people were killed in the late 70s based on their education, religious affiliation and physical appearances.

The last place we went was to the bat caves. Probably one of the coolest things I’ve gotten to experience here. Right around sunset, millions of bats came swarming out of this cave for 30+ minutes.

This day was so fun and only cost $10!! I am blessed to have a deeper understanding of the place I now call home and get to see more of the beautiful creation of the Lord.
