Hello and welcome to my page!!! My name is Savanah Scott, I live in Raleigh, NC, and I am going on the World Race Gap Year; Route 3!!
The World Race Gap Year is a 9 month mission trip that I am going on in September 2018!! I will be traveling to Ethiopia, Cambodia, Nicaragua and Costa Rica during that time, serving in local ministries and following the Lord’s calling daily. I’ll be in a team of around 50 other individuals who have the same passion as me to go serve God and share His awesome love!!
What led me here exactly? >>> I first felt God call me to serve the people of India in 2017. During this trip, my perspective was transformed and my heart grew passionate towards mission work. I wanted more!!! I continually searched up mission trip opportunities in my free time to see where I could go next. But, with all of the responsibilities of a high school teen preparing for college, I pushed it off. At the end of 2017, I went to Passion! I had never received so much clarity to God’s plan for my life than in that weekend. After listening to several messages from speakers, I began to pray for clarity on my future and decisions involving college, but God took my focus off of school and put it on the Gap Year. When I discovered the World Race opportunity, I spent all of my time thinking, praying, and searching about it. And here I am now!
Sometimes we are so consumed in what society tells us we need to do. Get a high school diploma, go to college, have a successful career, get married, etc… and for a long time, that is how I wanted my plan to go. But I knew that wasn’t my only purpose on this planet.
Matthew 28:19 states– “Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.” This verse speaks to me!!! I know this is my purpose!!!
Sometimes God wrecks our plans because His plan is SO much better! I am so excited for this awesome journey that the Lord has called me to, and I hope you will want to be a part of this journey with me!
