Do you ever just stand underneath the stars and take it all in? There is something about the night sky that takes my breath away and humbles me. I think its the feeling of such insignificance compared to the vastness of the universe.
The closest star is 4.3 light years away and that’s only the closest.Think of all the billions of other stars that cover the universe and the brilliance that they put forth that we may see them from light years away. God made such an incredibly vast universe filled with such complex and wonderful things!! But here’s what gets me.
Even in our inferiority God chose us to be rulers over his whole creation.
US! We are but mere particles of dust compared to the universe and still He saw us and loved us and blessed us with it all. And not only that but Psalm 8:5 says “You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.”
That’s so crazy that God has exalted sinners like us to be only a little lower than the angels. He made us in his image and put us in authority over his creation. And as I look at the night sky God reveals his bigness but also his goodness and love to me. It put everything in perspective because no matter how big my mountain is, God is bigger and he cares for me so much that he will pick me up and carry me if that’s what it takes to overcome it.
With that knowledge I can live in peace and FREEDOM. To live in freedom is to cast my anxieties, my fears, and any cares on HIM because I am not strong enough to shoulder those burdens myself. What a glorious feeling and what a true blessing especially walking forward in the World Race and fundraising.
He continues to reveal his glory to me in sometimes the smallest ways and sometimes the biggest ways! And all I can do is stand there in awe.
