When in Draganesti the teammates I was staying with decided to spend their free days visiting different places. Some went to a castle, the back sea, and another location… some went to Greece… I stayed behind.
At first it was because of the cost, but when the time neared it was more something that God put on my heart to do – to stay behind and rest. What I didn’t know is that I would be the only one in the house for two days… in a part of Romania which contains much spiritual warfare – attacks and oppression… a place the pastor described as “the graveyard”.
The Christian population in this part of Romania is very very low. Less than .5%. There is much darkness spiritually. I must say, I have not had as much attacks and oppression in any other country. Yet I have seen God work in wonderful ways 🙂
So for those two days of being alone I spent a lot of time in prayer for what I was to share with my squad at debrief, but I also had spent some time looking into my spiritual giftings – and I learned a whole lot 😀
I learned what they look like in ministry, how they shape my personality and character, why I frequently get attacked in specific ways, and in what ways they can be used to further God’s work. I learned some things about myself I didn’t realize before, and now I also know how to better pray for myself and for my future. My prayer used to be “What do you have for me to do in the future?”…. Now it’s “In what way/ministry can I make the best use of ALL the giftings you have given me?”. Though being alone for two days in the house was spiritually challenging, I learned a lot and I also came to know what God wanted me to share at debrief 🙂
A few weeks later, some of us were on our way to debrief and the castle that my other teammates went to previously was on the way! So we went 😀 Not only was it very affordable but I also got to share that experience with people I would not have been able to if I had gone instead of staying at the house.
God is so good. He let me know that I wasn’t missing out…. that He wasn’t withholding from me. Because I sought Him and His will first, I got to learn about myself and what He wanted me to share with others AND still see the castle and have a fun time xD
