Vietnam
- First time in an Asian country
- I got to try way more first time foods and spend way more time with the people and experience the culture here than any other country so far.
- I met a lot of Koreans
- I was asked by multiple girls if I was single, and available.
- Saw more places than any other country (like Dragon Bridge and Hoi An)
- Made the most Facebook friends here – that I also still keep in touch with
- Watched my first soccer game…. with Vietnamese students π I actually really liked it π Vietnam has an awesome goalie!
- Got to experience some pre Tet holiday (their lunar new year)
- First time teaching an “English Class”
- Got to try some fresh from the field Vietnamese coffee (someone actually gave me a whole bag of grounds!)
Cambodia
- Got a new team of people (including one more girl and one less guy)
- Second time living with the whole squad in one building.
- First time consistently doing night ministry only (for about 2 weeks)
- First time sharing gospel and seeing immediate results since month one in Belize
- Bought the most here (lighter clothes to stay cool and also be prepared for Africa)
- Someone in Phnom Penh thought I spoke Khmer really good and asked if I was going to live there long term (I only know 3 words)
- 5th and last hot country on this journey, until Africa. We are going into Europe for 3 months and it’s going to be cold. Going to watch ‘Cool Runnings’ on the way there π
Both Countries
- Met the most interesting people. Some were funny π
- Pretty much everyone was very friendly and kind and welcoming
- Just like in Central America… in each country here I was thought to have been a native. In Vietnam I was thought to have been either Vietnamese or from Singapore, and in Cambodia I was told I fit in because of my clothing and that I speak the language good…and because I look Asian haha!
- I didn’t die walking through the tuk tuk and motorbike traffic
