So yesterday we decided to explore an area we hadn’t walked to yet, which was up the hill from where we’ve been staying. (We had only been going downhill) One of the places we came across was a yard where two guys were welding, we will call them ‘L’ and ‘C’. This was significant because my team mate Isaac did the same type of work before coming onto this missions trip, so he was instantly curious and excited – so he went to go talk to them and ask about their work. They make gates, bbq pits, pots, and other stuff. We even got to watch L weld a few things, so that was pretty neat. He shared that he was taking his dad’s place because he was sick. My team mate Raquel felt the need to  pray for his dad, so she did. L had shared with us a few moments later that an accident happened some time ago and so he couldn’t see very much out of his left eye. He tried different things but nothing worked and he is not able to get surgery. He communicated hopeless about it and said hes just kind of accepted it. I shared with him that Jesus Christ healed blind people, whether physically or spiritually, and that Jesus can heal him also – because Jesus is God. So I asked if I could pray for him, that God would give him vision – whatever that looks like. He agreed. So before praying we invited C, who was near by, to join us. I prayed for him that God would give him vision. Nothing seemed to happen, but I know the bible says that sometimes people were healed immediately and sometimes “within that very hour”. I will keep praying for him, and I ask that you would also ๐Ÿ™‚ So not too long after we asked C if he would like prayer for anything, there was something he would like God to do in his life. He showed us a scar he had on his right forearm and shared that he also had an accident and it no longer had the strength it used to so he can’t do everything that he wants to, and sometimes it has pain when he works. So I asked if we can pray for his arm and he said yes. So I annointed his forearm with oil and prayed for him…during this prayer I felt something where my hand was on his arm, and I know God touched him because I really felt God’s presence and I looked at C and he had tears of joy. I then asked if Isaac and I could take a picture and post it  and they gave us permission. Just as we were saying our goodbyes, L’s dad showed up in person, that was a sweet surprise ๐Ÿ˜€ We got to meet him real quick and we were off. One of the things that stood out to me about this encounter, other than being able to pray for L and C of course, is that God was showing Isaac that he is in the will of God and that He is near to Isaac and with him ๐Ÿ™‚
