This post will be about my brother Troutt,             2/5/19

Troutt is 19 and lives in Texas.  His first name is Sam, so we call him by his last name to keep things simple.  He just got accepted into Dallas Baptist University, he is very excited about that.  His plan after the race is to work for the summer at a restaurant and then go to DBU.  He lives with his dad and mom.  HIs sister Hannah is planning on going to China for 2 years as part of the Peace Corps.  Troutt wants to pursue being a youth pastor in the future.  Troutt is an incredible cross-country runner and wants to start marathon training in Guatemala.  Troutt is the leader on our squad of making sure fun stuff happens.  We got to watch the Super Bowl on projector thanks to Troutt.  He is a huge Green-Bay Packers fan.  We argue a ton about who is better, Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady.  It’s obviously TB12. I am going to share some things I have learned from Troutt.

First, Troutt is always so full of joy.  He has a smile on his face and is always making the best of situations.  He lifts peoples spirits when things are not going well.  I love how he leads in being joyful to our team by setting a great example.  Secondly, Troutt’s perseverance.  He is pretty sick right now but I had to tell him stay back and rest.  He always wants to push through the tough situations and persevere.  I’m pretty sure that’s from his cross-country life.  Finally, his love for the Holy Scriptures.  At the beginning of the Race Troutt told the team he wanted to grow in love for God’s Word.  After being on the Race for about 5 months I have seen such tremendous growth in that area.  He gets up every morning to make sure he gets time Jesus.  It pushes me and the team to keep fighting for our time with Jesus.  I love this man…he’s my brother!
