The world race: Month 13

I returned from my World Race Gap Year on June 1st, just a little over three months ago. And while I returned home, it never felt as if the Race has ended. Not officially anyway.

For nine months I hopped around the world, landing in four different countries, never spending more than three months in each. And since June, that has still been true. The Race was over, but I still had to reorient myself to the U.S. just as I had to reorient myself in Cambodia. My squad, S Squad, was gone but I still got that itch for a new land just before August ended. Now here I am in Swaziland, in what feels like my 13th month of the Race.

For those of you that have been following my journey for a while now, sorry about the radio silence these past few months. I wanted to write about being home, I really did. I simply couldn’t find the words. Hopefully what I just wrote sheds some light on the reason for that. But as I said before: I am now in Swaziland! I’m currently leading a team of five men, and it’s been an incredible few days since arriving. It’s felt longer than just five days since arriving here, and we still have a long ways to go. Thank God.
