We are washed, white as snow, renewed, redeemed, pure and made whole again by Jesus’ loving sacrifice. The God of the universe came down and was one of us. Lived the life we are. He loved us so deeply to take all our sins on His shoulders. He took every guilt, pride, shame and sin possible to man. He was separated from His father for you and me. Wow. Like wow. God loves us so much.

After the fall we started sprinting away from God. Nothing in us chooses God, nothing in us wants Him. But God stops us in our tracks and changes our hearts. All we have to do is repent of our mess ups and say “yes”. The simple “yes” is so complicated in our minds, but God is knocking all we have to do is open the door. Saying yes and asking for forgiveness and handing over our hearts sets us free. So much freedom comes with laying down our sins and letting Jesus cover them with his blood.

We have all sinned, messed up and had regrets and Jesus has covered them all. Jesus just asks us to say sorry, He has the rest. He asks us to confess our sins so our hearts are pure. When we come to the Father we don’t want anything to hold us back. Often if we have some guilt on our heart and haven’t laid it down at the feet our Jesus it acts as a wall on our heart. If we continue to build more and more walls up, they just separates us more from Jesus. Sin is what separates us from God. But Jesus came and bridged the gap, He was the ultimate sacrifice. When we confess of our sins they no longer separates us from our father.

I have been learning about my false self lately, the sin in me that over time has “become apart of me”. A part of my false self is my pride and judgement. I was really overwhelmed and felt like I had too much pride that it could never go away. Then God gave me this verse and reminded me that I am redeemed, I just need to give my pride to him and work through it with him, “God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to shame, by triumphing over them in him” (Colossians 2:13-15). Jesus won. He conquered death for you and me. He loved us so much to take our burdens and make them his burdens. Thanks God.

My encouragement is to step into the freedom He gives you. If you have a wall over your heart, break it down and hand over whatever you are holding back from him. You are free, free indeed. Go scream from the rooftops and dance in the streets. God won for you.
