Woman I have grown up with you and we have seen each other grow.
Woman you sheltered me, fed me, cared for me, and continually pray on my behalf. Woman you stoped your life to help raise me and support the family; you continue to sacrifice each and every day. Woman you helped cultivate my passion for art and worship. Woman you have inspired me to never give up and to fight for justice and the weak. Woman you have showed me a love I have never known.
Women you have all showed me the meaning of strength. Your lives have been adopted into the pages of my book your pain, dreams, and victories will all live on.
Woman I am sorry that we live in a world where you are deemed less than because of your sex and even then lowered more when color, background, and finances are added into the mix. Woman, I hurt along side you I feel and carry your pain. I am enraged that you have been treated with such a lack of resect in this society and in your own personal life.
Woman you are more; more powerful than you give yourself credit for. You are smarter than what others believe you to be. Woman you have a power that man will never know or comprehend. You are not a toy that man can just play with, stare, cat call or degrade. Woman you deserve and have the right to be loved, respected, and taken serious.
