Most of us hate asking or admitting we need help!!!
But… help doesn’t always have to have a negative connotation…”help” saves us and might even take a pretty cool shape, who knows 😉
Help can take many different shapes. That help could look like encouragement from a friend, a daily reminder, a push to connect with others, or much needed strength to embrace our pasts and stories, just to name a few.
As Christians, we must realize we’re all sinners in need of a saving grace not through our own ability but only which God can provide. I don’t know about you but I definitely need His help, grace, and mercy. Boy oh boy am I learning about relying and depending on the Lord this last month for his help as I try to swallow everything the World Race entails.
Jesus never promises us an easy life; in fact, He tell us in John 16:33 that “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” While our life on earth will come with trials and struggles, he tells us that he will never leave nor forsake us in Deuteronomy 31:6 and in Psalm 46 that “God is our refuge and strength, a very help in trouble.”
Man, do we have the best “helper” or what?
The Creator of the Universe NOT ONLY took on flesh, walked a blameless life on earth, and then endured an undeserving, painful death to save each one of us BUT still to this day is willing to help us as we walk through our present troubles in our own lives. So, first and foremost, we have the very best help we could ever receive through out Lord and Savior.
And, two, God gifted us community as a way for fellow believers to help build each other up and to grow in Christ.
The Bible tells us to…
Love one another (John 13:34)
Forgive each other (Eph. 4:32)
Serve one another (Gal. 5:13)
Encourage each other (1 Thess. 5:11)
Confess sins to one another (James 5:16)
Pray for each other (James 5:16)
Bear each other’s burdens (Gal. 6:2)
As I said before, encouragement can come in all shapes and sizes…
This past year I brainstormed ideas on unique ways to encourage and love my friends, attempting to move away from traditional types of encouragement and to think outside the box, more in the direction of something from the heart, personal, and went beyond just that very moment and served as a daily inspiration.
In April I started making bracelets as a way to encourage my close friends to embrace their past and stories, as a reminder to pray for someone or something, encourage them in their faith, give them a daily reminder of where their identity is found, and something to help them through a present struggle in their life.
TA-DA!!!! Embrace(lets) was born!
Embrace(lets) are bracelets spelling out a word specific to your faith, personal life, and situation.
Everyone has a story, but sometimes they do not know what to do with it. Embrace(lets) create opportunities to share common places of pain, celebrate life’s most glorious victories. So, pick a word that embraces stories, encourages faith, and spreads the love of Christ. Then, you will receive a free bracelet to help give you the voice to share where you come from with the world – because it is beautiful.
Free? You read that right! They are completely free now, and they will always remain free. Let me just tell you about my incredible God that has blessed me with this amazing ministry, and provides a way and the funds for me to reach so many others at no cost to anyone. If you feel led to donate after receiving a bracelet, go ahead and donate above, but it isn’t necessary.
These bracelets have given me joy beyond comprehension. I’m constantly inspired by the stories of others as they explain why they pick their word, and moved by hearing about the conversations they’ve allowed for the people who wear them. They have created connections with so many people I never would imagined just by people wearing their story on their wrists.
Up to this point I’ve made over 1,300 bracelets. SAY WHAAAAAT?! I can hardly believe nearly 1,300 people, across several states, and of all ages wear my bracelets. I pray that my bracelets multiply along with the stories, connections, and opportunities that go hand-in-hand.
They are far more than bracelets in my book, they are help, love, joy, and hope.
Feel free to contact me if you want of this super rad bracelets; all you need is a word in mind and a location for me to send it. You can find my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/embraceletsbymorgan/.
