This month, my team and I have been hitting the streets of Novi Sad for evangelism. It’s been so cool to see how different evangelism can be each day. Some days, it’s been prayer walking. Other days it’s being bold and going up to strangers.
Yesterday, Jillian and I felt like God was calling for us to be bold. Everyday, God calls us to be ready to give an answer for the faith that we have. Especially, this month God has been reminding us that our time is short in this country. The reason we are on this trip is to share the gospel! With our short time, why are we holding back???
If Paul who was in prison could be bold, how much more could Holy Spirit give us boldness? “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians? ?6:18-20? ?ESV??
So we made signs and stood on the corner! AND because of God’s faithfulness people came and talked with us. Several people saw it, shook their heads and kept walking. But few stopped and shared their hearts.
The most encouraging encounter was meeting Mark. We took a little break from the corner with our questions to sit on a bench. In that moment, he spoke up and asked could I answer? Then we proceeded to talk with him for 30+ minutes. We shared bible verses and the gospel. In moments of silence, he would say tell me more. His response was often ‘this is interesting I’ve never heard it like this before’.
We didn’t have anyone accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, but I know and have faith that several seeds were planted. I pray for Mark that God would continue to water that seed. I pray for Bella who was a Christian but has become complacent. I pray for the psychologist to keep seeking the truth about the love of God. I pray for the lawyer that God would crush all his arguments.
God is so good!
