For some reason I had this crazy idea to write a blog a day for Lent.
I think it was from God but honestly discerning His voice is still new to me.
So tonight at 11:15pm, I think oh crap I still haven’t written a blog. And here I am.
And since I am being so honest, I really just want to go to bed. But as I lay here, trying to think what to write…it starts to rain! Lol
I think God just wants to remind me how much He loves me. He wants the people who read this to remember how much He loves you.
Today, I wrote out nine statements from Scripture of who I am in Christ. I also read a chapter from a Jerry Bridges book called preaching the gospel to yourself.
So when my mind wants to condemn me and declare me guilty, I can stand strong in Christ. Jesus has paid the price for my guilt, I am justified and redeemed through the blood of Jesus.
Romans 8:1 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those IN Christ Jesus.” (Emphasis mine!) I have right standing with the Father because of the blood of Jesus. If you believe in Jesus -that Jesus’ death took your punishment of sin, that His righteousness was placed on you, and through faith you now live eternally-then you also have right standing with the Father.
If you couldn’t tell by now, I adore Rend Collective.
But one of their songs comes to mind, “Boldly I approach your Throne, blameless now I’m running home, by your blood I come welcomed as your own into the arms of Majesty”
We are welcomed, wanted and belong in our Father’s arms when we believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6)
When I forget, I am gonna keep preaching the gospel to myself…..and I am gonna keep listening to Rend Collective. 🙂
