Dear friends and family,
I am now entering my last semester of high school and graduation is just around the corner. It has been a long journey, but I now have an even bigger journey ahead. Unlike both my older sisters, I have not always been the best at school (It’s just not for some people). I thought maybe I could go to college to pursue cheerleading, or even maybe my soccer career.  Undecided on my next chapter of life I turned to prayer, I asked God to open my eyes and really shine His light on the next path He wanted me to take. I have been a Christian my whole life but sometimes I find myself losing the important picture in life, an actual relationship with Jesus. Living in a small city it’s easy to get pulled into the party lifestyle. I know going to college right now, might lead me down a dark path. I want to make my life with Christ stronger and become a better follower of Him. God’s love is so amazing and I really want to spend this next year with all my focus on Him. Not knowing where I want to go to school, and searching for schools was becoming very stressful so I began searching for mission trips. I had remembered about a Gap Year program called the World Race. I know two girls that have recently completed the trip and I heard it was life changing. Instantly I knew. This was it, this is what I needed. I prayed and prayed as I started my application. It was long, it was deep, but I just knew this is what I wanted. I had to do an over the phone interview to be evaluated on my application. GOOD NEWS, both my application and interview were reviewed and prayed over very thoroughly. Days and many prayers later I received a phone call I had been ACCEPTED!
What is the World Race? The World Race is a mission trip sponsored by Adventures in Missions(AIM) for short. For Nine months I will be traveling to four different countries and sharing the Gospel with the lost and broken. During this period of time I will be living out of a 70 liter backpack on my back and a tent!! I will not be alone, I will travel with a large group of 50 people. Before I leave I will be spending a week this July at a Training Camp hosted in Gainesville, GA. There I will be trained and prepared to go out into the Nations and be the hands and feet of Jesus! The route I have chosen  is taking me to Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica, and Ecuador! Having to leave back my family and all of my possessions will be hard, but to really live the lifestyle of Jesus will be rewarding. Each day will be different serving as Jesus’ disciple whether I’m a teacher, soccer player, singer, or even a construction worker. I am going to strive every minute to share his word and love above all. I will be keeping a Blog throughout my entire journey and would love to invite you to experience my journey with me.
My journey starts September 8, 2018 and will be returning home June 1, 2019. The cost for the whole trip is $15,800 this covers all food, lodging, air, land, and sea travel, medical insurance, and Project Searchlight throughout my nine month adventure. I need your help. Most importantly I start out by asking you to pray with me the whole way; over my safe travels, over my team, my heart speaking Gods word, and that all my funds will be provided. Second, if you feel led to donate to my trip, please help support me reach my goal by donating! If you wish to donate online use https://www.adventures.org/give/ then follow directions! You can also email, call, or text me for more information/questions about the trip. I would love to share!
