Well, as you saw in my last blog (and if you haven’t, go check it out!) we had team changes very recently! Today was our first full day as just our team and it’s just so sweet! We are starting our time together by sharing our testimonies and speaking truths and encouraging words over each other.

But sometimes when those changes happen, our roles and responsibilities do as well.

So…*drum roll please!* I got asked to be the treasurer for my team!

When I was first asked by Sara, our squad leader, I wanted to immediately say yes but I knew I should take it to the Lord in prayer first to make sure it’s what He wanted.

He did.

I said yes and I started my service as treasurer! I am so excited to serve my team in this way and use my gift of money management for the glory of the Kingdom and to steward the money we have raised well.

Since being in college, I have learned how to manage money well and have honestly loved doing it! A lot of that was cultivated by my grandpa Gabrielse. He had a huge part in helping me pay for my college tuition and required that I make a budget every semester. I thought this task was going to be just that, a task, but it wasn’t. I LOVED IT. I think part of it was just the sweet time I got to spend with my gramps and connect with him in such a special and meaningful way for him. He appreciated my diligence in creating and sticking to my budget so much and it made me want to love him in that way even more, so I never stopped. He taught me how to make a budget and he encouraged me to stick to that budget. WHAT A BLESSING!

I pray that the Lord will continue to grow my gifts and strengths for His glory and to honor and serve my team well. Please be in prayer for me as I step into this role and take this leadership position and trust the Lord with the finances of my team.
