The body of Christ.
Kind of a crazy thing to think about if you ask me.
What is the body of Christ?
How is it made up?
What are the roles?
What does it mean to be the hands and feet of Christ?
This past month while doing ministry at Dunamis, I saw a representation of the body of Christ…through tools.
We used wheelbarrows, a cement mixer, shovels, pick axes, a weird flat grass cutter tool with a spear on the end, bricks, mortar, cement, concrete and probably more things…and each tool and material we had had a different purpose and worked in a different way.

One day as we were digging holes and using an array of different tools, I looked at our squad leader, Jenny, and said, ‘you know, the body of Christ is like the tools we use. They each have a different purpose and we wouldn’t be able to do everything we’re doing if we didn’t have all of them’. After I said it, we just both looked at each other and said ‘dang…that’s so true!’
Each member of the body of Christ is important.
Each member has a purpose.
Each member has different strengths and can contribute to the construction and growth of the Kingdom in different ways just like every tool is different and has a different purpose.

This month we saw our whole squad step into specific areas of ministry and use their gifts to further the Kingdom. As a group we got to dig holes, change diapers, work with children and adults with disabilities, talk to college students about faith, lift bricks, prepare food for the needy, love on so many people and ultimately be used by God to further the Kingdom.
We are vessels and tools that the Lord uses and we each have gifts to use.
How are you using your God-given gifts?

Let’s live for Christ and use our strengths and work alongside each other for the furthering of Gods Kingdom and not our own.
