On Thursday Marissa, Praise and I had the chance to travel about an hour and a half to visit families in a gypsy village with a friend of Zoli’s (our host). We were all along for the ride, unsure of what exactly we were going to do.

I’m not going to lie I was a bit skeptical. Here we were 3 girls who only speak English partnering up with two people we had just met. One of the men spoke Spanish and the gypsy language. The other spoke English, Spanish, the gypsy language plus several more. Quite the crew if you ask me. (Kinda like one of those jokes “1 Peruvian, 1 Serbian and 3 Americans walk into a gypsy village…”). Needless to say there was all types of translations and languages spoken throughout the afternoon yet there was never a time in which language was a hindrance or bother.

Our mismatched crew visited several different houses and families and man oh man was my heart overflowing. We got to meet, sing, play and pray with some of the most stunning people and kids I have ever seen.

Most of the songs we sang were in different languages but at each house they asked us to sing one in English. We sang “Open the Eyes of My Heart” and that is exactly what God did. He showed me how He sees each of the people I met. I was speechless and in awe. Each one of them are so uniquely beautiful. Being the hands and feet and EYES of Jesus makes the world a bright and vibrant place.
