Swaziland is by far the most beautiful country we’ve visited. The scenery is amazing and the people are so beautiful. I love spending time with our kids everyday and getting to know more of the culture.
Our ministry here looks like helping out at a care point during the week. A care point is basically a place where the kids get a meal and are poured into by their shepherd. A shepherd is someone who has been through the care point and now helps run it. They feed the kids rice and beans and for some of them this is their only meal a day. My first day at the care point I fell in love with the kids. We are there to love on them and just simply that. The crazy thing is, I feel like they are loving on us more than we could ever love on them. The Lord has been reminding me of what my love should look like.
While being here, one of my squad mates wrote me a note that said “I hope the love you pour out is the Gospel.” It is a simple statement, but the Lord convicted me. Does the love I give reflect the Gospel? The next day I read in 1 Corinthians 13. I know I will never be perfect in the ways that I love, but I want to live a life that when others who don’t even know me, see something different. I want them to see Jesus in my actions and my words. God convicted me to really pursue this type of love; His love.
I only have two months left on the race and I know the Lord has been preparing my heart for when I arrive back in the states. I pray I come back overflowing with the love of the Gospel ready to pour out on everyone around me and beyond.
Please continue to pray for my squad as we enter in the last stage of the race!
