If you’re reading this, you’re breathing. Now focus on that breath. The breath being produced from inside of you. It’s coming out of your body, no one else’s. That breath is proof that you are alive. Take a deep breath in and out. That breath is not promised tomorrow. Because it’s not yours. It could be taken away in a heartbeat.
As much as I know how great the Fathers love is for me, I know that this life isn’t about me. It’s all about him. Everything I do should glorify who he is. Down to the air I breathe, its all his. I’m going to be honest when I say I haven’t been living a life embracing this truth. I haven’t been thanking him for the life he’s giving me. I haven’t been making sure I live every day like my last. The Lord has convicted me of this.
Do we go through our day wasting our breath on gossip, revenge, complaining or hate? Are we waking up giving gratitude for another day of life? Society tells us to look out for #1. The Bible tells us that #1 should be last. It’s something that’s been engraved in our minds since we were young. We think, “if I don’t look out for me, who will?” God already does and has been since the beginning. Most of us don’t live in this mentality but God gives us grace. Thank you Jesus.
I don’t write this blog to condemn. But I write this blog praying that the Holy Spirit speaks to you through it. Right now I am being broken down of my old ways and built up in the truths of the Spirit. I know that every breath I receive is a gift. My life is a gift. And being able to share my heart with others in Thailand is an incredible gift. We can choose to open this gift or let it sit on the shelf.
