There are a lot of things that I would consider beautiful; a waterfall, a summer thunderstorm, the laughter of a child, a ornate skyscraper, a historic building, sunsets, etc. I could go on for literal hours. All I can say is that God made an amazing world and super creative humans. But this past weekend I witnessed the most beautiful sight I have ever seen.

For some background, for the past two days my squad has been participating in something called an Awakening. Basically this is when two squads in the same general area of the world gather together for a weekend of empowerment, teaching, and activation. We had the absolute pleasure of meeting up with O Squad, an 11in11 squad filled with some of the most joyful, Christ-filled, wise, and passionate people I’ve ever met. So much happened! We stepped out in boldness into the gifts that God has given us, even if we didn’t totally believe we could at first. It was almost entirely led by us racers, and man I just cannot describe how proud I am of my squadmates and people I had only just met. The power of the Spirit was manifest in each and every one of us!

The last night we held worship and session that lasted for about two hours and forty minutes. But it was so good! People were speaking and the Spirit led the way, and some major truth was dropped by so many amazing and talented people. At the end we were singing the song ‘Break Every Chain’, and we were encouraged to raise our hands to get prayer for various things we wanted freedom for. I myself asked a couple of my teammates to pray for the chain of doubting my discernment of the Lord’s voice to fall from me, and dang did it ever! Praise Jesus!

As I began to pray for other people around me, I looked up, and I beheld the most amazing sight. It was a room filled to the brim with words of freedom and power, people using the authority given to them to declare broken chains over themselves and their siblings in Christ! I saw decades of the enemy’s work stomped into the dirt in seconds as faces shining with smiles and tears praised the Lord Almighty! Generations of hurt healed with bold vulnerability and an open pouring out of the Spirit! The sound of worship that brought a man to Christ that night echoed! I saw the freedom that was meant for us all along wash over the people around me, and I cried as the Lord shared his joy for his children, my siblings! That, that is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen!
