This week I decided to give you all a glimpse into what my life is like on an average day. Because this has become the normal for me, I wanted to share with you to also remind myself of the incredible blessing it is to be here!
So, I start my day with breakfast at 7 am. This breakfast was fried eggs, black beans, and chips. It’s actually my favorite breakfast at the base, which might be surprising to those who know I really hate beans, but I think America is just bad at beans.
Next, we have devotions, and then it’s off to the bus to head to ministry! We take one bus to a terminal in a nearby city.

This is the bus we take to our ministry village, Bola de Ora.

Then its off to say hello to our ministry hosts and their pets! These are Box and Lila… When they get big enough they’re going to eat them…

On Wednesdays we teach discipleship. We have a morning class, and it is usually smaller than the afternoon. This week was really small because it was raining so much.
Our ministry host, Josafina, makes a drink for the kids every day. Sometimes it is atol, like a corn drink, or horchata. It is actually super tasty. We serve it every day after each class.

On Wednesday after class we ate Queso Fresco (fresh cheese). It was given to us by a woman we prayed for a few days before. Josafina made use tortillas to go with the cheese. It was so so so good!

Then it is time for the afternoon class. It’s a bit bigger.

Every discipleship day we learn a verse to go with the lesson, with some actions to help the kids memorize!

Then it was time to leave. As I mentioned earlier it was raining a lot… which means slippery hills. Basically I fell in the mud…
We stopped at a bakery in Chimaltenango for some wifi.

Dinner was fried chicken, salad, and fries! It was super tasty, but my favourite dinner is still empanadas.

Sometime during the evening we have team time. On Wednesdays we work on our blogs. After that we just hang out, play some cards, watch movies, and then it’s off to bed.

Well, here it is, an average day for me! Before I sign off, I just want to ask for some prayers against some spiritual warfare going on in my team at night. We love our ministry, and we all want plenty of rest so we can serve them the best we possibly can. I know God is bigger than any attack, and I know your prayers can have a real and amazing effect.
Thank you so much for reading and all of your support!
Maggie
