I’m comin home

Today is five days until the day that I get on a plane that will take me back to Atlanta, Georgia. In five days, I will leave my mentors, team, squad, and the most beautiful country. This is a flight that I expected to be on four months from now, not in five days. Leaving the World Race early was a very hard decision that took weeks of prayer and wise council. I have been on the mission’s field for five months now and it has changed my entire life. I’ve learned how to love children in Ecuador that were never able to communicate back to me. I was a painter, a friend, and a bible teacher to the locals in Peru. I was a school teacher to the most loving kids in Guatemala. I was a thankful “world racer” stuck in another country praising the Lord for providing us a place to stay and eat for two nights in Colombia. I was able to be a part of a team that loves so deeply, and fights for one another. I had the privilege of being able to be a student under my mentors: Kate, Aly, Jackie, and Stephen. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to gain more knowledge about my creator from the most amazing coaches, Bryan and Cathy. I’ve found a true love for reading, understanding, and studying the living word. I have dug into and built my intimacy with the Lord. I have learned that feedback is not to hurt me, but to make me a better person and more like Jesus. I’ve realized that my opinions are not better than anyone elses. I have been deeply humbled, and pulled back up by my squad time and time again. I’ve found a new passion for bringing kingdom to Earth. I finally understand that to love Jesus, is to love every single person.

That being said, to my donors: Thank you, for partnering with me to change lives and bring news that brings people salvation. Thank you for being a part in changing my life, and my view on life. I want to remind you and encourage you that the money you gave was put to use. The money and prayer that you gave helped me preach the gospel to children every day. Your money and prayer gave me the opportunity to be able to tell a 26 year old man that got shot trying to cross the boarder that he will never be too far away from the Lord. Your prayers and financial donations gave me the platform to worship God Almighty in the nations. Thank you so much.

To my family: Mom and Dad, I’ve missed your daily “I love you” Gracie, I actually miss you stealing my clothes, and I can’t wait to hug you when I come home. Alexis and Ellie, Thank you for encouraging me so much throughout the past 5 months, I am so grateful to be your sister. Sterling, see you soon!!
