Growing up in a christian home, and a dominantly Christian town I always assumed that everyone knew who Jesus Christ was, and those who weren’t Christians were choosing not to be. I believed that until I heard the words “More than 2 billion people have never heard the salvation message.” I thought to myself that THERE IS NO WAY!!!!! I began researching and I found sources on top of sources about these “unreached people groups” in our home that we call Earth. I quickly became uneasy with the fact that I get to go to church every single week and hear about the grace of God, yet there are two billion people on this planet that have yet to experience the power of the name Jesus, and the overwhelming perfect love that we do not deserve, but still receive. I knew I had to do something, but I  had the expectations of going to college and rushing a sorority. I tried to push back the calling of missions; “just until I graduate college” I told myself. But the more I researched and visited different colleges the more yearning I had for something different. I became so frustrated one night I begged God to just show me where he wanted me to go, I mean it’s January and I haven’t even picked a college to apply to (which is extremely late if you didn’t know.) In the midst of my prayers about college I had an overwhelming feeling to stop, and instead of praying about what I thought God’s plan was for me, to ask him what his plan was. And boy oh boy I sure am glad I stopped believing that I knew what God wanted, because he has BLOWN ME AWAY!!!! So here I am, family and friends, telling you that I am going on the World Race.

What is the World Race?

The World Race Gap Year is a program put on by Adventures in Missions. It is a nine month missions trip that I will be embarking on in September, where I will be bringing the Gospel to Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia and Swaziland. Instead of pursuing my own plans for my life I am obeying what the Lord has commanded me to do.

With all of that being said, if anyone would like to join me and my team of other students follow my social media (@kenziereid1) and subscribe to this blog (I will be posting before, during, and after the race.) I also ask that you BOLDLY pray for my team and I as we set off on the craziest, yet most sound experience!! The power of prayer is so real y’all, and God always listens. Pray also for the countries I will be going to and the men/woman that have never heard about the reckless love of God.

“As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength” Psalms 138:3

You can also support me financially, I have to raise $15,800 to go the entire months in this crazy journey. I am confident that the Lord will provide in every aspect of this trip, and that all donations will be expanding the kingdom of God and doing his work all for the glory of his name. Thank you guys so much for taking the time to read my blog. God bless.
