My feet are stained with dirt and my face is sunburnt. Our first week of ministry in Swaziland is completed. Tuesday through Friday we take a 10 minute bus ride to the neon green and black building that is our care point in Joyella. The jungle gym usually has two or three kids dangling from it when we get there. Tuley, our shepard, and our GoGo is always waiting to greet us. (GoGo means grandma in Siswati, and she cooks the meals for the kids everyday) Ministry can go anywhere from 5-6 hours a day- depending on Jerry, the driver. We literally just play and love on kids during that time. They all want to be held, and want you to help them climb the monkey bars. (my arms always feel like they are going to fall off by the end of the day. update- they’re still attached to me.) Once a week we visit homesteads and pray and talk with the families there. It was sweet to be doing those again. It’s really the best way to meet the community and build deeper relationships with the families in your area. So far swazi has been great. The heat can be a little brutal, but the stars “MY WORD” they make up for it. Also, swazi church is a real trip. Service can go anywhere from 2-4 hours long, and I’ve only been to two services. The culture is rich and it’s amazing to be apart of. Seven and half months later  and I can’t believe I just has my last first week of ministry.
