Every evening I have the opportunity to work for Ezra ministries, teaching English to around 50 students in 2 different classes. I have students/friends that come of all ages from 3 to 23 and I have gotten very close to all of them. Sunday, San Chandah and Dondrom are three older guys that love Jesus and are already very good at English and I have connected with them a lot. We discuss everything from adjectives to American pop culture. I have little friends too like Vattana and Vattanak who are identical twins and basically have the same name. I also have my man Ching. Ching gives me gifts quite often. This week he gave me a rabbits foot. This is a huge deal, because in Cambodia they have a very animistic culture. Basically they believe in a lot of superstitions and ghosts so the rabbits foot was something that this child believed would protect me and give me luck. These students have become more than just students and friends but more like family. I have seen them everyday for the past few months and have three weeks left with them. It honestly is gonna suck leaving them and has made me realize that eventually in my life I want to settle down and stay somewhere long term. Its awesome and God is making such a big difference in these ministries, but to fully invest in the lives of others (especially children) people need to be consistent. God has shown up in so many ways and the students are actually now coming to school at a church instead of the classrooms we were teaching at.
Within the next month a review video of my time in Cambodia will be posted. Thanks so much for all of your continued prayers and support. God Bless
