About a week ago I arrived in Atlanta for World Race launch. Now I’m sitting in a coffee shop in Battambang, Cambodia with my friend Sam. Getting here has taken a long time but the journey was incredible. We had launch (basically training us for our trip) for three days in Atlanta and then headed out. It took us almost three days to get to Cambodia. We flew out of Atlanta to San Fransisco. That trip was pretty chill just about a 4.5 hour flight. We then had a short layover before we flew on a 14 hour flight from San Fransisco to Guangzhou, China. China was really cool and our first taste of another culture. Everything there was so uniform and similar. It was super cool for the 4 hours we were there! We then flew to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Once there we took a bus to Battambang and arrived to our house/ compound. They gave us the first day off to rest from our travel and try to adjust to the time difference, but we went exploring all day because why wouldn’t we!?! Today we woke up and went to the YWAM church which was in Khmer and English. I met a guy that was a World Race alumni and he invited me to go out into a rural village that he is starting a school in on one of my off days. We will be starting our ministry days tomorrow and for the first month I will be doing physical labor. Its been so cool to see how God has already moved in our group and in the people we have met and will be working with. I can’t wait to see how He continues to move and am super stoked to have the opportunity to go on this trip.
