Hello all! I have made it safely to Guatemala with my squad. we’re living at an AIM base in Parramos, and it is breathtaking. Thank you God for giving us such a perfect transition into the world race!! We are extremely blessed to have soft beds, warm showers, and the amazing staff here who have been loving us and pouring into us daily. For the most part, we are all feeling great, but also soaking up all the emotions that come with leaving home. This past week has been filled with a lot of hard work, and last weekend we took the chicken bus to Parramos to celebrate Guatemalan Independence day. We also visited Antigua to shop and connect to the beloved wifi. the Guatemalan people have welcomed our squad with open hearts and arms, and I feel so loved here. God has truly given me a heart for Central America… the culture here is my favorite of all time. My team and I are doing ministry in a town called Bola de Ora, which means “ball of gold.” we are teaching english, discipleship, art, and athletics to a group of 60 kids!!! We have our work cut out for us and most of our time on the weekends will be spent lesson planning and preparing for our classes. However, we are truly thriving and enjoying teaching and getting to know all of the babes (ages 5-13 haha). Our amazing ministry partners are constantly encouraging us and feeding us freshly-picked corn on the cob and homemade tortillas con queso. My days are filled with so much love and laughter and I feel peace in my heart, unlike anything I have ever experienced. I feel so incredibly blessed to have amazing mentors and friends, and I’ve seen God work in new and surprising ways since I’ve been here in Guatemala. Each moment here is so precious to me and I am so excited for all of the greatness God will continue to do in my heart.
