This phrase “We’re here because we’re here because we’re here because we’re here…” I got from a John Green Book signing and honestly has helped me throughout ministry and connecting to the Lord.
This month in Thailand my team and I get the privilege of working at a women’s home. This is a place where women can come with their children if they have any after terrible life situations that happen to them. We started the first week by gardening and pulling a lot of weeds but as time has gone by we have become the group that tills up, shovels and wheelbarrows dirt/clay around all day. I am not going to lie to you guys. This is tough work. Like back breaking tough work. And it can be a struggle for us all to see how what we are doing is helping the ministry host or the women that live there.
Sometimes, and it usually ends up being lot of the time, I don’t get to see the fruit of the ministry that the Lord allows me to partner along side of. I cannot always see the purpose in sweeping the pavement or shoveling dirt. But that does NOT matter. What matters is that this is the season that the Lord has placed me in and He will use this for His glory, wether I get to see that or not. I sing that little phrase often to remind myself that I am here and doing something and even if I don’t know why or what for I am doing the thing that I am doing, I am here because I am here. And that is okay.
This week or month or life-time, I want to challenge any and everyone who reads this blog, to be okay doing things that may be frustrating or annoying in the moment. Maybe its at work and you really just don’t want to do the thing you have to do. Or maybe its school and you don’t see the purpose of why you are there. Whatever the case may be, I want you to remember that little saying/jingle, “We’re here because we’re here because we’re because we’re here.” And continue on through whatever it may be because God has you in that spot and this season for a specific reason. Even if you don’t know what it is.
Please continue to pray for safely and energy over me and my team as we get ready to shovel some more dirt tomorrow.
Thank you everyone for all of your support.
With Love,
Liz
