Let me quick set the scene for you:

One of our favorite and only, things to do in Swaziland is go to a restaurant called Nisala where Julie and I almost always split the Hawaiian pizza, and team joy tends to go there every Saturday.

So we are trying to catch a bus to get back to the compound and a few other girls and me started walking back on the main road and finally caught a bus, we got on and so on and so forth. So we get to a bus stop that we thought was ours but turns out was the one right before it so we got out and then awkwardly stood around as we realized the error we had made. However, the Lord always provides and gives us new and uncomfortable opportunities so we were going to start our walk back and we saw that there was a soccer game going on so we decided to stop and watch a few minutes and Julie said that she felt the need that we needed to go evangelize and Colleen said that, that made her uncomfortable so we should go do it. So the three of us started to walk down to the game and just said hello to some people and were standing around when a big group of people started shouting and calling us over. So we walked over to them and just started to have a conversation and God worked in radical ways just like He always does. So Colleen started taking to a woman named Comfort just about life and then Jesus and the church and such and we learned that her kids go to a care point that our brother team goes to and that Comfort’s prayers are getting answered that her family is starting to learn about the Lord. So I start talking to the guy next to me and he immediately started asking me about the Lord and such. Eventually I got to ask him if he attended church and he points to a beer bottle on the ground and goes “Thats my church” and starts laughing. To this day all of us weren’t sure if he was a little tipsy or not but that doesn’t matter. What was important was the fact that the Lord was in the conversation.

Julie, this man and myself talked about how to have a relationship with the Lord and what that meant in his life. We had some very different view points but we could all agree on the idea that we need to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

The experience was so incredible overall and honestly very encouraging to me. Watching my teammates be obedient to the Holy Spirit and just watching the Lord move through the conversation was a wonderful experience. I am excited to see what these next few months in Swaziland hold for me, my team and my squad. The Lord has already been working and I can not wait to see what He has next.

With Love,
