The world likes to tell us that we can never be good enough. We need to be stronger, prettier, smarter, insert whatever applies to you. And sometimes we believe what the world has to say. At training camp today we were challenged to take photos, write a blog or make a video about why we joined the World Race. Clarissa, Ashley and I decided to take photos of one another and learn more about each other. We discovered that everyone has their own story and the only way to REALLY get to know someone, is to ask. What we have below, with the first three pictures, is how we see ourselves and the race. The final three are how we see each other and how God is going to grow us on the race. We know that He is going to continue to reveal to us how He wants us to see not only each other but ourselves and how wonderful He created us.
“I joined the race because I’ve never been satisfied with routine. God has created such an incredible world out there, and I want to see every bit of it. I want to show people that they’ve been designed with the same detail and care as He put into creation.” -Ashley
“I am a part of the World Race in order to experience God’s creation and pursue His kingdom. To live a life that doesn’t waste time when there are an abundance of opportunities and extraordinary things to learn.” -Clarissa
“I applied for the World Race because I knew that I did not want to follow the typical route after high school of going to college. I felt the Lord telling me that this was something I needed to drop everything for and pursue.” -Liz
Ashley will grow throughout the race by caring and loving deeply for others. She seems as though she is an encourager who is always sharing with others the importance they hold and the love God has for them.
An adventure seeker, Clarissa is one rad dude listening closely to God’s calling for her – and she’s not afraid to live that out and discover what He has in store.
Grace and poise in the goofiest, purest form. Liz has a heart for helping the world know God’s love for them no matter who they are.
Although I haven’t known Liz for very long, I’ve noticed boldness and a gal who is full of great ideas. She will grow throughout the race by continuing to accept her call and pursue her great ideas during AND after the race. She’ll go far.
