I made it safely to Cambodia!! For the last two weeks I have been in the city of Phnom Penh where I have been doing training with my team and several leaders. Last night we successfully completed this training and closed out the evening with a celebration of food, fellowship, and saying YES to the rest of this Journey. Our time here so far has been filled with attending meetings, learning about the Kingdom of God, Hearing God, beautiful sessions of worship, team activities, building relationships, and encouraging one another. We have also learned more about the history and culture of Cambodia and the different cultural and religious barriers that may arise when trying to reach the people here.
The highlight of my time so far has been making connections with the local people and other travelers, having the chance to share why we are here – to share the Good News and love of Jesus. There has also been a sweet family near the house where we hold our meetings and all the children come to visit us each day and play. They are so beautiful and precious to me and just have the most pure form of joy that exuudes when you smile at them. That’s all it takes is a simple smile, the universal language of love. God is Love.
Now what is next? Today my smaller team of five and I traveled 7 hours by bus to Battambang, Cambodia where we plan to spend time visiting the surrounding villages, making connections, and sharing the love of Jesus where the Lord leads. True to our route, “Unscripted”, we will be making connections and finding ministries along the way. Our team name is Team DEEP. Collectively, we felt God was calling us to go deeper on this journey. This means going deeper in the pursuit of God. Deep in passion. Deep in purpose. Deep in culture. Deep in worship and deep in surrender and grattitude.
And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” – Luke 5:4
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” – Matthew 4:19
We are modern day disciples and I am so honored to live this life.
I am excited to see where the Lord leads us and the divine appointments he has set out before us. More updates to come…
